The “Southeast Asia in Focus: New Markets, Goals, Opportunities and Results” Conference was held in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County on 13 March 2019.

Southeast Asia and its business investment opportunities were the main focus points of the international conference which was organized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County in collaboration with the Pallas Athene Innovation and Geopolitical Foundation. The speakers of the Conference all agreed that in the coming years and even decades we should certainly focus on Asia.

The landing of the first Moscow- Debrecen flight was followed by a Hungarian-Russian business meeting. From now on, we can fly from Debrecen to Moscow twice a week. The first direct flight of Wizz Air airline landed on December 18, 2017 in Debrecen. During the welcome ceremony at the airport, it was stated that with this new flight the number of destinations available from Debrecen is increased to eight.

Google announced the expansion of its Digital Workshop’s program to Hungarian small and medium-sized enterprises. The free training and educational material helps businesses take advantage of the opportunities offered by the digital world, which in the long run promotes the growth of the Hungarian economy. Hungary Central Bank Expands Lending Scheme To SMEs

The National Bank of Hungary (MNB) is to launch the FGS+ programme to give a boost to lending to small and medium-sized enterprises, central bank Governor György Matolcsy has told a press conference on Wednesday. Contrary to previous reports, the Funding for Growth Scheme will be expanded not to large corporates but to SMEs that have carried too high risks for the banks to lend them at a rate capped at 2.5%. Hungary Construction Output Soars By Nearly 30% in May

Hungary’s construction output grew by 28.7% year on year in May, according to both unadjusted and working day adjusted data, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Tuesday. Output rose in annual terms in both main groups of constructions: i.e. in the construction of buildings and civil engineering works by 17.0% and 40.4% respectively. Construction output was up 2.2% month on month, according to figures adjusted seasonally and for working days. In the first quarter of 2014, Hungary’s unadjusted net external financing capacity (i.e. the combined surplus on its current and capital accounts) amounted to EUR 1,554 million (HUF 481 billion). Adjusted for seasonal effects, the net external financing capacity was EUR 1,861 million or 7.6% of GDP (HUF 578 billion).
