30,000 working in Italian-owned companies in Hungary today – This is a very good result according to Italy’s Ambassador to Hungary, H.E. Massimo Rustico

Italy is a very important partner for Hungary, both in terms of exports and imports, because it is the 5th most important foreign trade partner of Hungary. – said H.E. Massimo Rustico, who thinks there is a huge potential for growth in terms of cooperation between the two countries. He added it is very important that the relationship is fruitful for both sides. The Italian Ambassador also said that more and more attention should be paid to such outstanding sectors as the agro-industrial one. H.E. Massimo Rustico drew attention to a business forum in Milan. According to his opinion, the forum in autumn will be of great significance, because it helps to deepen the economic ties between the two countries. The Ambassador has a positive opinion about Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar County. According to him the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County together with the city of Debrecen will create a very friendly business environment, which can be attractive to Italian companies that are already here, and to other companies wishing to settle in the region. H.E. Massimo Rustico also drew attention to the importance of the Airport of Debrecen; he believes that Milan-Bergamo flights should be used in the field of culture and industry as some kind of bridge between the two states.

I am very happy to be here in Debrecen, at the first joined initiative launched with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County – said Dr. Francesco Mari, the Secretary General of the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary. This event can be the beginning of a long and successful cooperation between the two chambers and the two countries. He said that they would like to organise an Italian Business Day in Debrecen as well with the participation of the city of Debrecen, the Italian Embassy, the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Hungary, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County and the Italian Institute of Culture. On the planned business day, economic issues will be at the centre, but Italian gala shows will also be planned with Italian artists and with the gastronomic delicacies of Debrecen’s Italian restaurants. Dr. Francesco Mari said the development of Debrecen and Hajdú-Bihar County is fantastic, and he spoke about a highly valuable business environment in our county.

Dr. Éva Skultéti, Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Hajdú-Bihar County expressed her pleasure about the joint event organized by the two chambers, which was in the spirit of science, industry, partnership and network cooperation. The Secretary General made a very important and positive announcement for the businessmen: an Italian Desk will be set up in the Chamber, which will help businesses with Italian investment information and business partner search. Dr. Éva Skultéti also praised the investor environment of Debrecen, which is due to the international airport and the excellent infrastructural conditions. Finally, she addressed the autumn economic forum in Milan, which is a very good opportunity for businesses, as there are many untapped opportunities in tourism, machinery and the pharmaceutical industry.
