László Parragh, Chairman of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, presented the results of the Modern Businesses Program on 23 May at a press conference in Budapest. Mr. Parragh said the results speak for themselves.

"Over the past one and a half years, it has been proven that businesses are interested and open to development and digitization but in many cases we need to give them the encouragement and technical assistance needed to make the first step. That is why the key for success is our consultants work and their personal presence. The Modern Businesses Program has taken a pioneering role, with its persuasive, motivating activities. It has opened up doors that will enable other market players to launch similar programs in the future. "

"The popularity of the program is indicated by the fact that we managed to reach almost 10,000 rural SMEs instead of the planned 3,000 businesses. More than 4,700 successful on-the-spot business, IT audits and consultations have been made, exceeding 3,500 micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises that have received the Digitally Prepared Enterprise certification. With this certificate plus 5 percent of non-reimbursable bonuses can also be used by SMEs in the GINOP-3.2.2 IT programme, providing a total of 48.2 billion forints of digital asset and service development. The beneficial tendency is well demonstrated by the fact that tenders are received continuously. Domestic enterprises require 1 billion HUF worth of subsidies. In view of the success of the project, the justification for continuing the Modern Businesses Program cannot be questioned. "
